In early November 2018, the Autumn Session of IRU and the IRU World Congress (International Road Transport Union) took place in Muscat, the capital of Oman.During this Grand event of the transport industry more than 1000 participants from more than 100 countries took part in lectures and discussion panels, where there was a debate on the current situation of road transport in the world. Much attention was paid to the future of the transport industry.The Session covered the following topics: “World Cup 2022: Addressing the Mobility Challenges”, “New Technology and Business Models: Prosper or Perish?”, “Moving in the 21st Century: Road Transport, Mobility and Trade”, “Innovation and Competition: Staying Ahead of the Curve”.Among the invited guests were the representatives of business, politics and international organizations: President of Goldman Sachs International, Ex-President of Former European Commission Mr. Jose Manuel Barroso, Minister of Transport and Communication of Oman.
