82 years ago, the Second World War started. At 5:40 a.m. the area of the present-day Free Customs Territory of Małaszewicze was bombed, on which one of the largest airfields in Poland was then located. In honour of this date and exactly at the same time, today’s celebrations of this event began at the monument to Polish soldiers who died in the defence of the airport in Małaszewicze, under the slogan “Our Westerplatte”. Emergency sirens were activated, the national anthem was sung and the roll call of the dead was read. After the salute of honour, delegations of representatives of the local government, services and education, assisted by scouts as well as veterans and local residents who still remember the event, laid wreaths and lit a symbolic candle of remembrance.
Representatives of Adampol S.A. could not be missing among the gathered participants of this holiday. Adampol S.A., as well as many other companies, conducts its business activity in the area of WOC Małaszewicze.
